Extract of sample "Extinction of the Dinosaurs by Oard, Michael"

This article is particularly important to my study since, unlike other articles, it focuses on the extinction of dinosaurs in North America. The focal point of the argument is that extinction was geologically instantaneous. This specific article is important to my study since it has more citations than any other article that I have come across. Therefore, it will offer an insight into further studies on the topic.

Saier, Milton. "Species Extinction." Environmentalist 26.2 (2006): 135-47. ABI/INFORM Complete. Web. 18 Nov. 2012.

Whereas all the other articles that have been considered zero in on the extinction of dinosaurs, this article takes a more broad approach to the problem of extinction. This broad perspective will come in handy in my research as I seek to diversify knowledge surrounding this topic.

Sarjeant, William AS, and Philip J Currie. "The "Great Extinction" That Never Happened: The Demise Of The Dinosaurs Considered." Canadian Journal Of Earth Sciences 38.2 (2001): 239-247. Academic Search Premier. Web. 18 Nov. 2012.

The main point of argument in this article is that extinction probably happened as a result of continuous changes in natural causes as opposed to other theories. This article will enrich my research by presenting a comparative base for argument since the other articles seem to support alternative theories. However, it can only be used together with other articles that are more recent.
