Extract of sample "Importance of Management in Business Growth in the Workplace"

Managing a business allows the management to identify any arising problem in the organization. Through management, there is departmental interdependency (Malhotra, 2000). The interdependency facilitates proper and efficient communication in the organization. A problem in one department may affect other departments since they are interdependent and therefore management can identify the problem in its young or developing stage (Burrow, Kleindl, and Everard, 2008).Secondly, it equips the manager with the know-how of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization.

Since the management allows interaction with all departments in the organization, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the organization is easier. Knowledge of the strengths of the organization helps in the maximization of opportunities arising hence enabling the growth of the business (Knutson, 2001). Since the management is aware of its weaknesses, it is easier to identify threats to the organization. Knowledge of threats to the organization helps management in developing ideas and plans against the threats, which allows for business growth and an increase in its competitiveness (Graham, Kaye, and Rothstein, 2006).

It also helps in learning of behaviors and performance of different individuals, which is important for the growth of the business. When managing a business, it is easier to control employees and learn them. The above is possible through conducting performance appraisals. The process allows management to discover the working capabilities of different individuals’ thereby increasing organizations' efficiency (Industrial systems research, 1996).
