Effects of Gas/Oil Production of the Middle East over the Past 50 Years Some of the main oil producers in the Middle East include Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Iran. Oil production is said to run almost everything and the production endeavors of these three nations has greatly influenced their success for the last couple of decades (Stevens 6). In these three countries, for instance, the countries has seen an improvement in their international relations with some of the most influential countries of the world such the United States, Britain, Germany and Russia among others.

Russia, in particular, has made huge investments in Saudi Arabia to ensure that the future of oil production is still bright (Stevens 24).The three nations have also benefited greatly with the technological development brought by their oil production endeavors. UAE, in particular, has one of the most technologically-developed cities the world over and this is thought to be influenced by the money brought to the nation by oil (Stevens 24). Today, Saudi Arabia stands as one of the nations that can heavily dictate the worlds economy.

This is because the country produces the most oil in the world and any slight change they make in prices can affect the entire world. This makes them overly influential (Stevens 25).The main negative effect that this great oil production endeavor has brought to Middle East producers is that they Westerners have sought to control then for the last few decades to amend oil prices to their advantage (Stevens 26). They do this by controlling a majority of the stakes at significant bodies such as OPEC among others.
