The restaurant has unique sandwiches best for individuals who are desiring an enhanced tasting alternative to traditional fast foods. The thought that the company is famous for freshly sliced and slow-roasted beef sandwiches and Market Fresh salads, wraps, and sandwiches, which are made using wholesome ingredients and then served with the expediency of a drive-thru makes the company interesting already for any busy individual, not to mention an economist.

Arby's Restaurant Group was founded by Lerroy and Forrest Raffel and is popularly known as the Raffel Brothers Inc in the year 1950s.  The original menu of the restaurant consisted of potato chips, roast beef sandwiches, and iced tea.  As time went by, the company has been able to add to its menu other sandwiches, milkshakes, curly fries, meals for the kids, and light choices meals.  According to the Arby's Restaurant Group website ( 2012) over 1,100 locations of the restaurant are owned by the company whereas the remaining ones are franchised.  Therefore, several major resources are required by Arby's Restaurant Group.

These resources include finances or investments in the firm.  The total investments of the firm stand at between U.S. $ $357,500  and U.S. $2,404,500 and the company are still on an expansion trend. Operating a franchise owned by the company attracts a franchise fee of $37,500. The other major requirement for the company is the workforce or employees. The company needs dedicated women and men to continue providing the services they offer to its customers. A workforce that is driven by innovation, teamwork spirit, respect, and customer orientation forms a major requirement for the company to continue running a successful franchise in the U.S. 

Arby's Restaurant Group whose menu features salads, dessert items, and meals for kids apart from the sandwiches implies that the other major requirement for the company is food materials. To continue expanding the rich and attractive menu of the franchise and offer customers the ultimate best in alternative foods to traditional foods, the firm requires a constant supply of food materials. The franchise locations require transportation to provide the deliveries. Transportation stands critical in the supply of raw materials(food materials)  required by the various Arby's Restaurant Group franchises situated in different locations.

When one wants to operate a franchise with the Arby's Restaurant Group, he/she will need an initial or a prior franchise fee of $37,500.  The remaining costs are for the suppliers, thus making the company require more capital. The firm also undertakes vigorous training for about 5 weeks at the location of the franchisee to train the individual on how the firm does its things. The training includes areas such as value, standards for excellence/quality, menu items specifications, techniques for inventory control, and the operation method of the firm.   Read More
