The growth rate of the following town has seen the apartments booked and the contract is agreed upon with the tenant. The apartments are well furnished with the best quality products and latest fittings that meet the growing population needs. The wild wood company offers fair rates to employees who live and maintain the apartments. It is the tradition of the wild wood apartments to ensure that they meet to discuss on how to improve the standards of their apartments and plan to expand their business in real estate. Tenants fill questionnaires every end month to air out complaints or suggest on new ways to maintain the apartments. SCOPE The introduction of a database will be to meet the daily needs of the employees and the tenants who live within the Wild Wood apartments. It will also help in keeping of records of the apartments such as expenditure and the rents paid by the tenants. The database may also have records on the margin of profits and losses of the apartments. OBJECTIVES 1. Have the actual number of tenants in the apartments 2. Compare difference occupancy rate of all apartments 3. Have all grievances addressed to the letter to avoid vacation of the apartments 4. To ensure proper us of appliances in the apartments such that the tenant could repair damaged appliances’ before vacating 5. Have the actual figure of the rents and the possible values in case of any change so as to have a clear comparison during meetings 6. Have all sorts of receipts noted down example tenants receipts and purchased goods that may be purchased for any changes to be done 7. Note events such as robbery or fire cases in any of the apartments among other cases that may have happened within and how to prevent them. 8. Regulation of prices such that they may not be too high or too low TASKS AND TIMELINE 1. Gathering Data: The manager may gather information in different ways of data collection such as surveying, observation and filling of questionnaires. Time allotted 3 weeks. Deliverable: A list of schedule of interviews and observations by relevant employee, text of the questionnaires. 2. Analyzing Data: Data gathered can be analyzed to determine business rules and other preliminary data modeling. Time allotted 3 weeks. Deliverable: Rules of the business should be reviewed including the basic entities and attributes. 3. Normalization: The data model will be completed with entities and relationships normalized. Time allotted 1 week. Deliverables: Entity Relation Diagram for Review. 4. Building the physical database: The data model will be translated to the Relational Database Management system. Tables, Columns with specific data types and Relational and other constraints created. Time allotted 2 days. Deliverables: The Schema of the database for review. 5. Testing and security: Sample data will be entered and each of the business rules and requirements will be tested. General database security and security related to business rules will also be tested. Time allotted 3 weeks. Deliverables: Documented test results 6. Database completion and installation: Final changes and corrections are made. Sample data will be removed and the database installed on a server. Final testing for server access and connections. Time allotted 2 weeks.
