Having been born in a family where education is recognized as an important input for success, I am endowed with the passion for learning and the utmost goal of reaching my maximum potential as an individual. I believe that the essence of life is the continuous quest of enlarging my knowledge and developing my skills in all life’s aspects. Knowledge and skills are both built not just from the experiences at home, school, and work but in every place where we find ourselves. However, the choice of the place where we derive knowledge determines the quality of education that we attain and therefore puts a strong impact on the skills which we possess and will utilize once we are in the corporate world.

My choice of pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson is in part of my short-term goal of acquiring the necessary capabilities which will mold me into a competent leader in the business world. Being employed in the internationally acclaimed accounting firm Ernst and Young as an auditor, I currently feel the strong need of equipping myself with the much-needed skills and knowledge and enlarging my scope in order to enhance my proficiency. The return to graduate school will enable me to learn the science and art of management while allowing me to understand how business organizations operate. As an accountant, I believe that I need to be able to comprehend the evolving business arena in order to make a sound assessment of a company’s performance. Furthermore, in recognition of the importance of strategic alignment within a firm, I would like to broaden my horizon by in-depth knowledge of the interrelationship among functional areas and how they work towards attaining organizational goals.

The choice of UCLA Anderson is irrefutably attributed to my passion for reaching my maximum potential and improving my social skills. I am impressed with the university’s pool of renowned faculty which is represented hands-on experiences in the management of business organizations. With the vibrant business community in Los Angeles, I know that it will be a fertile ground for me to develop and grow as a corporate personality. As a Jordanian, I am thrilled to experience life in the United States which is the melting pot of different global cultures. I know that the opportunity of studying abroad will allow me to interact with fellow students who came from various backgrounds and fields of expertise. Together with my intellectually adept and capable professors, my classmates will also play a huge role in my acquisition of knowledge since they will be sharing their skills and expertise in our class discussions and other activities. Furthermore, being with a diverse group of students will expose me to unique, contrasting, and interesting ideas. I believe that being a student of UCLA Anderson will be one of the best venues where I can learn to work on a team with diverse backgrounds. This opportunity will also make me more open-minded, less discriminating, and flexible.

After pursuing my graduate studies, I hope to return to Jordan and apply the knowledge and skills I have learned for the betterment of our corporate sector. My love for my Motherland motivates me to utilize my resources in order to give back to the nation which nurtured me and shaped my identity. Armed with the intellectual capital and expertise I gained from graduate school, I am especially interested in pursuing a career as a financial analyst and consultant. I am keen on diagnosing financial problems and issues through a thorough financial analysis as well as prescribing possible solutions. I know that through this profession, I will be able to help business organizations succeed and even merely survive amidst the changing business climate.
