Industrial Revolution and the Rise of the Middle The documentary on Music and the Middle provided crucial information which enhanced the proliferation of musical expression and access to a greater number of people. It was revealed that the industrial revolution provided the impetus for a surge in the production of musical instruments, particularly the piano, due to more factories that manufacture them. The economies of scale drove prices down due to increased supply. The technology for printing was maximized enabling the mass printing to musical scores and sheet music which accorded more people to collect and enjoy.

The pivotal role of women, as instrumental consumers of music in various forms, enhanced and facilitated the propagation of music starting from the Romantic Era. Their role have remained to be significant in contributing to the emergence of a new breed of talent in terms of providing skills and creating musical compositions that remain to be enjoyed until contemporary times.
